CMP Whiskey Island Paddlefest

Challenge yourself with a 1-mile, 2-mile, 6-mile, or Kids’ stand up paddleboard or kayak race during the 11th annual Whiskey Island Paddlefest, or enjoy a paddle at your own pace during the Capture the Swag Fun Paddle! Whiskey Island Paddlefest is perfect for both beginners and advanced paddlers.

Race Distances and Categories This race is intended for all skill levels, and while this event is competitive in nature, the focus is on a fun race experience. All racers (excluding the Kids Race) will receive an event logoed Nalgene water bottle (while supplies last). Register early to guarantee you receive one, as priority will be given to those who register first.

The top 3 finishers in each category as noted below will receive a medal. For the Kids Race, everyone will receive a participation prize; no medals.

SUP Race Categories - 14’ & under (6 miles, Male/Female) - 12’1-14' Race (2 miles, Male/Female) - 12’ & under, any style (2 miles, Male/Female) - 12’ & under, any style (1 mile, ages 14+, Male/Female) (1 mile, ages 9-13, Top 3 SUP) - Kids Race

Kayak Race Categories
- Surf Skis or Sea Kayaks 15' or more (6 miles, Male/Female)
- Kayaks less than 15’ (2 miles, Male/Female) (6 miles, Male/Female) - Kayaks less than 15’ (1 mile, ages 14+, Male/Female) (1 mile, ages 9-13, Top 3 Kayak) - Tandem (6 miles only, Top 3) - Kids Race

Book your kayak rental for one of the races or fun paddle with us and make sure to register for the event via Cleveland Metroparks website.

A limited supply of sit-on-top kayaks (including your paddle and lifejacket) can be reserved for $21/person (youth kayaks), $27/person (single kayaks), and $54 - 2 people (tandem kayaks). Guests reserving kayaks MUST have prior kayak experience. Reservations are limited to the 1 mile & 2 mile race (single kayaks only), Kids race (single kayaks only), and Fun Paddle (single or tandem kayaks).

Equipment reservations close at noon on August 15.
