Highlights

Your journey begins at South Woodstown Station, where guests board a festive, narrated train for a scenic ride through Salem County’s countryside. Along the way, enjoy light narration highlighting the region’s history as America marks its 250th anniversary, setting the tone for a night of tradition and celebration.

Premium Table Car passengers may choose their ice cream flavor during checkout; these servings are provided to your table so they can be enjoyed on the train.

The train first heads south toward Fenwick Grove, pausing briefly while the locomotive performs a dramatic Wye turnaround—an authentic rail operation rarely seen by the public. From there, the train travels north to Penton Station, carrying you deep into the heart of farm country.

Upon arrival at Penton, guests disembark and transfer to a tractor-pulled wagon ride across Bil-Dol Farm fields. During the ride, enjoy short, engaging narration about the working farm, its heritage, and the role agriculture continues to play in the region today.

As dusk settles, arrive at a private field for the evening’s highlight: an approximately 20-minute professionally choreographed fireworks display, lighting up the sky starting between approximately 8:50 and 9:00 PM. Relax under the stars as bursts of red, white, and blue bring the celebration to life in a setting unlike any other.

Following the fireworks, the tractor ride returns guests to Penton Station, where the train awaits for the relaxing journey back to South Woodstown, concluding an evening filled with sights, sounds, and memories.

This is a truly one-of-a-kind event, combining rail travel, ice cream, farm life and fireworks into a single immersive experience. With no road access to the fireworks site, the Red, White & Boom Ice Cream & Fireworks Express offers a rare opportunity to celebrate America’s Semiquincentennial in a way that feels timeless, intimate, and unforgettable.
