Students will gain the ability to skipper an auxiliary powered (inboard diesel engine) sailboat of approximately 30’ to 50’ during a multi-day cruise in regional waters in moderate to heavy winds and sea conditions. Knowledge of provisioning, galley operations, boat systems, inboard engines, maintenance procedures, advanced sail trim, coastal navigation, (basic chart plotting and GPS operation), mooring with multiple anchors, weather and discussion about dinghy/tender operation.

Price of course includes textbook, certification fee and the cost for partial provisions. Students will share the cost of dockage fees and fuel. Each student is responsible for the cost of their meals on land.

What to bring

Please bring your lunch, soft-soled shoes, water or other beverages, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat if you’d like.
