Our 3-hour back bay flounder trips are great for families with younger kids who want a shorter trip or people who get seasick in the ocean. It includes a professional USCG captain, all rods, tackle and bait. This is a private charter for your party only (up to 6 people max. by regulation) so you have the boat to yourself. We will fish the calm waters of back bays. We usually have a first mate available to help you with all the fishing and more. There is a bathroom aboard boat too. You are welcomed to bring your own rod, or gear, just let us know in advance so we can make room. See our FAQ page for more details.
Our 4-hour flounder trips run twice daily (7:30am-12pm) and include the boat, a professional USCG captain and all rods, tackle and bait. This is a private charter for your party only (up to 6 people max. by regulation) so you have the boat to yourself. This charter is a great family trip for your shore vacation. We will fish the back bays or coastal ocean reefs (up to 6 miles out0 at the captain’s discretion, (depending on weather and recent fishing reports). We usually have a first mate available to help ensure a relaxing experience. You are welcomed to bring your own rod, or gear, just let us know in advance so we can make room.
What to bring
- Bring your own food and drinks. Alcoholic beverages are ok too. (no glasses please).
- Closed-toe boat shoes or sneakers are recommended. Rubber slides, cheap flip-flops and sandals are not recommended for safety reasons.
- Sweatshirt or jacket, especially in the early season or evening as it can get really chilly on the water.
- Lotion based sunscreen only (no spray sunscreen please, as it stains the deck and fiberglass).
- Hat and/or sunglasses.
- Emergency medications for any special health conditions (i.e. asthma inhalers, allergy epi-pens, etc.)
- BYO music. Shore Thing has a great sound system with Bluetooth that will connect to your phone.
- If we are going offshore dress appropriately. Water temps on the ocean can make it much cooler that expected (especially in the spring & early summer). Rain gear and/or nylon clothing are best.
