About

Whether you sail or simply come for the breathtaking sunsets over the Shrewsbury, our Wellness on the Water series offers SSYC members a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of the water in a whole new way. Enhance your mental and physical well-being by joining us for Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga – a blend of guided movement, breathwork and meditation on the water.

Our sunset classes are held on Monday evenings - 8/11, 8/18 and 8/25 - at 6:30. We limit each class to five spaces to ensure personalized attention and a safe experience for everyone. All levels of experience (yoga and paddleboarding) are welcome!

Highlights

Infuse your practice with the calming elements of nature and experience the seamless integration of yoga and paddleboarding. Your outdoor studio awaits: where calm water flows beneath you, a gradient sky stretches above and the sweet sounds of summer float by on the breeze.

What's included

  • Glide Lotus Paddleboard
  • Paddle
  • Leash
  • PFD (personal flotation device)
  • Anchor System

What to bring

  • Reusable water bottle
  • Towel / change of clothes
  • Sunscreen (Reef Safe)
  • Hat (optional)
  • Sunglasses (optional)

A reusable water bottle can be secured under the straps of your paddleboard. You’ll appreciate the opportunity to rehydrate especially on warmer days.

Expect to get a little wet while on your paddleboard or very wet if you take a refreshing dip in the water, though it happens less often than you might think. Leave a towel and a change of clothes in your car, just in case!

We encourage you to leave your phone in your locked car - this is your time to unplug and focus on yourself for 90 minutes! However, if you need to bring it on board, we recommend using a waterproof phone case and a dry bag for protection.

Wear clothing that is comfortable to move in and won’t become heavy if it gets wet. Shorts, yoga pants, t-shirts and bathing suits are all appropriate but it really comes down to personal preference!

We recommend wearing water shoes or flip flops to protect your feet from sharp shells and stones on the beach. They can be taken off and secured once you’re on your paddleboard.

Cancellation

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance in order to receive a full refund or credit towards a future class, subject to availability.
