ASA 101 - Basic Keel Boat

Learn the principals and techniques of sailing, the terms for the different parts of the boat, federal safety regulations, an introduction to navigation al aids and more! We teach on mid size cruising vessels that are fitted out with the latest technology and safety equipment. No previous power, sail or navigation skill are required. When you complete Basic Keelboat certification, you will have enough practical experience to skipper a sailboat (about 22') in light to moderate winds.

Please bring your lunch, soft-soled shoes, water or other beverages, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat if you’d like. The course fee includes your textbook, log book, fee for certification and a 1 year membership in the American Sailing Association.
