About

This course is instructed following the National Canyoneering Guides Association standards and guidelines which are Nationally recognized. After successful completion of this course, you can register for the 1 day assessment. During this course you'll learn all of the necessary skills needed to become a canyoneering guide.

This 2 day course will prepare you to guide in easily accessible canyons with no technical approaches or means of egress. These canyon types are called Class I and II canyons. This course is also for Class A.

Prerequisites & Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older CPR Wilderness First Aid Swiftwater Rescue Awareness FEMA ICS 100 STOP THE BLEED or equivalent Bloodborne Pathogens Helicopter Operations for SAR Responders Mountain Weather Course Leave No Trace Awareness 1 year of canyon experience

Cancellation

Cancellation/reschedule: NO REFUNDS ON GUIDE TRAINING COURSES. Cancellation MUST be done 7 days in advance. A $20 admin fee will apply to reschedule.Weather will be checked 10-12 hours pretrip, if 80% chance of rain or high daily temps below 40 degrees this course will be rescheduled. In the event of a weather cancellation our office or your guide will contact you. Do NOT assume a trip/course is cancelled unless you hear from our office or your guide.
