About
Welcome to G.Host Official’s Burrowes Mansion Event! This Georgian style building is one of the most important in Monmouth County, built in 1723 it retains a strong character of its colonial roots. With over 300 years of history including the Revolutionary War, this mansion has seen a lot.
Previous owners were a Major in the Continental Army, a Doctor, a Dentist, a publisher of the Matawan journal, as well as serving as the Steamboat Hotel and a Colonial Tea House. In 1974 the home was sold to Matawan to become a museum for the township.
Today the Mansion continues to serve as a museum for the township with period rooms, antiques including 18th and 19th century furniture and local memorabilia.
Paranormally, we have heard rumors of an older man standing in the doorway, knocking and noises, and disembodied voices. Hopefully, we can confirm these findings as a group!
