About

Step aboard the historic A.J. Meerwald, a 115-foot oyster schooner built in 1928, and experience life on the water as it was nearly a century ago.

Sail along the scenic Maurice River, one of only four rivers in New Jersey designated as part of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System. Take in peaceful views of marshlands, wildlife, and the natural beauty of this unique waterway.

This specialty sail offers a hands-on sailing experience alongside a guided birding experience with a knowledgeable expert on board, helping guests identify and learn about the many species that call the Maurice River home.

The Maurice River is a critical migration route for many bird species, offering incredible opportunities for observation throughout the season. Don’t forget your camera or binoculars—there’s always something to see!

Your ticket also includes free admission to the Delaware Bay Museum, located nearby. We recommend allowing at least 45 minutes to explore the exhibits and learn more about the region’s rich maritime history.
