About

On this extended tour, you’ll have an extra 30 minutes to fly by the second-largest tidewater glacier in Alaska. You’ll see seals resting on floating icebergs and look for goats on mountain cliffs. The Columbia Glacier is the fastest receding tidewater glacier in Alaska. Due to its massive size and incredible crevasses, you may even see huge chunks of ice calving off into the ocean on your trip. (1-hour flight, 30-minutes on the glacier).

You will have photo/video opportunities in the air as well as adventure time on the ground to explore. After touring the Alaskan landscape and looking for wildlife by air, your pilot will find the perfect place to land on a glacier, where you can get out and drink glacier water, throw rocks into a moulin, or just walk around and explore.

What to Expect

You’ll have a great view from every seat, so sit back and relax as you enjoy the incredible scenery. Your professional pilot will provide knowledgeable commentary during your journey.

Highlights

  • Majestic views of glaciers and mountain peaks.
  • Photo opportunities – bring your camera and sunglasses!
  • Look for wildlife along the steep cliffs and valleys.
  • A backcountry experience for all ages and abilities.

More Info

All tours require a 2 passenger minimum. Solo travelers: if the tour time is not yet booked into, you will not be able to book online. If you run into this, call us and we’ll add you to an existing reservation.

290 lb weight limit per seat (132 kg)

Maximum of 6 passengers. We can accommodate larger groups with advance notice (please call). Per FAA guidelines, infants younger than 24 months old can fly on a parent’s lap; children aged 2 years and older must have their own seat purchased for them.

We operate a fleet of Robinson R44 helicopters for our tours. Each helicopter seats three passengers, so larger parties will be traveling in groups of three, using multiple aircraft. For proper weight and balance of the helicopter we may occasionally require groups traveling together to be seated with other guests so we do not exceed the maximum weight limit for the aircraft.

Remember to dress in layers for Alaska weather and wear flat, closed-toe footwear (no sandals or heels, please).
