Want to go catch a halibut but not spend 12 hours plus on the water? New this season we are now offering a ¾ day trip option for halibut. You get to cruise in Prince William Sound to one of our closer fishing spots to enjoy a day catching halibut and some rockfish.
Halibut on these trips do tend to be smaller than our full day charters, you can expect fish more in the 10-20lb range. Along with the halibut we do catch yelloweyes, quillbacks, and copper rock fish. Our ¾ day trips are 8 hours charters, leaving at 7:00 am and returning at 3:00 pm. This is a great family trip or a trip for the new fisherman.
Valdez halibut fishing is unique because of the tours that go along with the trip. Most of these ¾ day trips takes place 30-40 miles from Valdez, on the way you can watch for whales, porpoise, sea lions, seals, eagles, and many other species of birds. To top off an amazing trip it all takes place in the natural beauty of Prince William Sound, with hanging glaciers on the mountain sides and seemingly endless waterfalls.
