The Notch Powder Hut is the premier Backcountry Ski Hut in the Girdwood Valley, Chugach Mountains. There is no better, more accessible hut near awesome backcountry ski terrain in Southcentral AK than this one.
Highlights
- Notch Mountain and Sunnyside Powder Basin offer a variety of terrain aspects, excellent tree skiing for stormy days, and skiing for all abilities.
- Chugach Powder Guides (CPG) does offer Snowcat Skiing in the area at certain times. If you'd like to sign up for Cat Skiing let us know and we can help coordinate a Hut Stay and Cat Skiing adventure with CPG.
- Alpine Air Alaska Helicopter Charters can provide Heli bumps up to the Hut.
- The hut was built in 1993 with remnants of the Alyeska Tram Construction as a community Hut for Girdwood/Alyeska Locals.
