Hatcher Pass Dog Sled Expedition
About
Have you ever dreamed of running dogs in Alaska or driving a dog sled through the Alaskan backcountry? We have the adventure for you! Join us this March and learn to drive your own team of dogs out onto the historic gold rush trails that made Alaska famous. Step back in time and experience an authentic once in a lifetime dog sled adventure.
This tour is a two night/three day dog sled expedition to Hatcher Pass. The experience includes expert instruction from Iditatrod dog mushers, guiding, food, lodging and all the gear to be comfortable on the trail. You will start the tour as a novice and leave as an Alaskan.
Day One - We'll start with teaching you about how to drive a sled and work with the dogs. Afterall the relationship with the pups is the most important thing. We'll then head out on the trail and run over frozen lakes, through the woods and up the moutain to our lodge on Hatcher Pass. When we arrive we'll show you how to care and feed the dogs before settling into your cabins, after earning a well deserved dinner and a soak in the hot tub or sauna under the northern lights. Day Two - In the morning we'll take care of the dogs and get ready to head out. The second day's trail will take us to stunning views of Denali and the Alaska range. Day two will be stepping back in time on the historic gold rush trails and a more remote wilderness travel day before heading back to the lodge. Day Three - After feeding the dogs and getting your team ready in the morning, we'll work our way home. You'll finish the last day as an expert on dog sledding and we think you'll find running dogs and Alaska has found it's way into your soul.
