The Eklutna Lake Trail is a hidden gem close to Anchorage and is a stunning area found off the beaten path and secluded against the Chugach range. This E-Bike tour explores the natural beauty of Eklutna Lake and is perfect for beginners and those wanting to explore the backcountry of Alaska on a well-maintained trail system. This tour travels along the glacier blue waters of the Lake through spruce forests and past waterfalls and on to the moraine field at the base of Eklutna Glacier. This trail is 26 miles long on easy terrain with scenic views of the lake, waterfall, mountains, and glacier features. Excellent for beginners and people looking for a fun pedal-assisted ride into the wilderness. This tour includes plenty of opportunities for photos, snacks, and lifelong memories.
The Eklutna Lake E-Bike Tour begins at the trailhead near the lake, about an hour from Anchorage. After a short safety briefing and gear check, you’ll start your ride on a pedal-assist electric bike. The trail follows the edge of Eklutna Lake for about 12 miles and is mostly flat and well-packed. It’s a good option for beginners or anyone looking for an easy, steady ride.
As you ride, your guide will point out local landmarks and help you watch for wildlife like moose, eagles, and sometimes bears in the distance. The views include glacial water, dense forest, and mountain peaks. You’ll stop along the way for photos, breaks, and time to take in the quiet landscape. The e-bikes make it easy to cover more ground without getting too tired.
This tour lasts about 3 to 4 hours, including stops. We provide the bikes, helmets, and safety gear. Dress in layers, bring a snack, and carry water. The tour is open to adults and teens, and group sizes stay small so everyone gets a better experience.
Guests should be in good health and expect intervals of strenuous activity.
