About

Skagway's busy little port falls away behind you as the road begins to climb, trading the bawdy frontier town for glacier‑carved valleys and distant peaks. This is a quieter kind of adventure—beautiful and relaxing—as the Klondike Highway carries you deeper into Canada and along the swift, fast‑moving Tutshi River.

Where stampeders once rushed north, desperate to reach the Klondike gold fields, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police stood their posts, insisting on order and a year's worth of supplies before anyone could pass. Today you stroll across the Yukon Suspension Bridge, safely suspended above the rapids, reading interpretive signs about those same officers and gold seekers while you sip a hot drink, breathe in the mountain air, and let the sound of the river do the talking.
