About
Sitka Sound is renowned for its incredible wildlife. During our expeditions, we encounter an array of marine life such as seals, Stellar sea lions, sea otters, whales, and porpoises. Throughout the year, Humpbacks, Killer Whales, and occasionally Minke and Grey whales make their home in Sitka, Alaska. There's also a vast variety of avian species in the area, including bald eagles, puffins, and murres. Some extra exciting encounters include our coastal brown bears, who enjoy feasting on salmon along the coast. Our wildlife tour is perfect for those who want to experience the Tongass National Forest's breathtaking and overwhelming scenery, with fantastic opportunities for photography and making unforgettable memories.ttttt
What to bring
The Tongass National Forest is a temperate rain forest, so be prepared for the strong possibly of rain and mild temperatures. I would recommend wearing layers because it can get chilly even in the summer months. All of our vessels have enclosed cabins to stay dry and comfortable. However, if we are fishing, having a beach adventure, or if you plan to spend as much time as possible out on the deck, you’ll want to pack along a raincoat (and maybe even rain pants and boots!) to stay dry and comfortable. t
