Community Hike: 50ish and older, Long Lake Loop on February 17
🥾 Take a scenic stroll around the Greenbelt trails 🏔
About
About the hike and what to expect: The Matanuska Greenbelt trails are a popular area for fishing, hiking, and biking. The park includes a series of lakes, located in deep depressions between moraine ridges (eskers) formed by glaciers 30,000 years ago. The Long Lake Loop is a moderately strenuous hike along rolling terrain. We will walk approximately 4 miles at a leisurely pace, sticking together as a group.
This afternoon walk/hike is designed for more 'seasoned' hikers. We'll be moving at a leisurely pace, chatting along the way. Hikers can expect to adventure for about 3 hours - sometimes these events are bit less, sometimes these activities are a bit more. Our objective is rarely a specific destination - but more about enjoying time in the outdoors. .
