About the hike and what to expect:

This out-and-back route near Eagle River offers a classic Southcentral Alaska adventure. Stretching 11 miles round trip, the trail winds through a dramatic glacial valley, with well-marked junctions guiding you toward two jewel-toned alpine lakes—Eagle and Symphony. Expect rocky terrain, sweeping views, and a few talus crossings that add just enough challenge to make the journey feel earned.

On clear days, don’t forget to look back near the bridge—you’ll catch some of the best valley views in the Chugach.

This trail is an Alaska State Parks trailhead. Participants are responsible for paying applicable parking fees if they do not have an annual parking pass. Annual permits can easily be purchased online.

Maximum group size of 10 hikers. Must be 12 years or older to participate unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

We ask folks to leave their 4-legged friends behind for this trip. Thanks for understanding.
