🥾 Difficulty: Moderate for most hikers 🥾 Distance: Approximately 5 miles 🥾 Elevation gain: About 1500 feet

Trip Description:

  • This route follows The Muktuk Marston trail from Arctic Valley to Hunter Pass above Hiland Valley, and down to the South Fork of Eagle River trailhead.
  • Terrain is all above tree line with some gradual elevation gain and loss, then gradual switchbacks to descend near the end.

We’ll stay together as a group and hike at a leisurely pace. We will stop to identify plants, photograph the views, and take water/snack breaks as needed.

What to bring

  • Comfortable walking/hiking shoes
  • Comfortable attire (avoid cotton or denim, if possible)
  • Insect repellent
  • Small backpack
  • Additional layers (hat, gloves, jacket)
  • Rain gear - If you have it, carrying both rain pants and a rain jacket is recommended
  • Water (1-2 liters recommended)
  • Snacks and/or lunch as desired

Cancellation

For day trips and community classes, cancellations made: More than one week before trip departure, receive a full refund minus a 5% processing fee. Less than one week before trip departure, receive no refund.
