Community Hike: 50ish and older, Scout Ridge Trail on June 17
🥾 Take a scenic stroll enjoying Chugach Range views on the Scout Ridge trail 🏔
About
About the hike and what to expect: Scout Ridge trail follows a bluff along Cottonwood Creek and overlooks the Palmer Hay Flats. The trail is mellow with a few inclines and declines underneath a canopy of birch and cottonwood. The trail goes through the woods and passes by small lakes and streams. As you walk along, you are passing through the ancient remains of Athabaskan settlements. Along the trail, we will stop at the Scout Ridge Overlook where we can look out over the hay flats, the Chugach Mountains, the Knik River Valley, and Pioneer Peak.
This afternoon walk/hike is designed for more 'seasoned' hikers. We'll be moving at a leisurely pace, chatting along the way. Hikers can expect to adventure for about 2 hours - sometimes these events are bit less, sometimes these activities are a bit more. Our objective is rarely a specific destination - but more about enjoying time in the outdoors. .
