CROSSWIND/MORAINE CREEK 2026
Katmai National Park - Call for August-September availability as trips are limited
About
A staff favorite! Join us in remote Katmai National Park.
Discover one of Alaska’s hidden gems for bear viewing at Moraine Creek, deep in the heart of Katmai National Park. This remote creek hosts one of the region’s best natural salmon runs, drawing brown bears from miles around and offering an intimate, unforgettable wildlife experience in a truly wild setting.
Your adventure begins with a scenic bush flight from Homer, landing near Moraine Creek. After a short safety briefing from your experienced guide, you’ll cross the tundra on foot to quietly observe these magnificent bears—often just yards away.
With fewer crowds and a more rugged backdrop than Brooks Falls, Moraine Creek is a dream destination for photographers and wildlife lovers seeking a raw, up-close bear encounter. Limited dates available: August 4th through the first week of September.
