About
McNeil River State Game Sanctuary & Refuge
Congratulations on winning a McNeil Permit!
About
Trip Duration: 4-5 Days (may be more or less depending on the tide schedule). This is a tide dependent location that requires landing via floatplane on the afternoon and evening high tide over 15ft.
Schedule
For Seat Fare Rates: Drop-off is generally the day before your permit begins and pick-ups are generally the evening of your last guided day. Private Charters are available with more date flexibility.
What To Bring
The distance needed to carry your gear to camp varies between 200 feet and a 1/4 mile depending on conditions when you arrive. Guests typically have 1 camera bag, 1-3 bags of personal items, gear, and food. You will need a backpack for viewing days as you will be away from camp most of the day.
Please refer to the handout you received in the mail or email from Fish and Game for food, water, clothing, and other logistical information. There is a full list of what to pack and what not to pack on the ADF&G website. Here you can find the list, as well as map outlines of the camp and the trails. http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=mcneilriver.main
