About

About the Trip

So, you want to go fishing for the halibut on a day when our regulations don't allow for retention? Maybe you're finding that July is busier than you expected? Maybe you found some last-minute killer tickets to get to Alaska? Maybe you like to let the chips fall where they may in your trip planning? Whatever the case may be, here you are.

Well fret not, for we have a solution for you! We have partnered with a local commercial fisherman to lease IFQ (International Fishing Quota) so we can offer an additional day of halibut fishing through the GAF (Guided Angler Fish) program!

**What does this fishy jargon mean?

It means that on this trip you can keep: - x1 Halibut of ANY SIZE per person - x5 Pacific Grey Cod (a.k.a. golden salmon...but they are not, in fact, salmon) per person

About the Irish

  • The size and comfort are why most people choose to fish on the "Irish". While we like to think that most of our days on the water are under clear skies and calm seas the reality is that we are fishing the beautiful waters of Lower Cook Inlet and Kachemak Bay. We are at the mercy of the weather on any given day, and she can be very changeable. The ride on the "Irish" is very comfortable, dry and stable. The pounding in our short choppy seas are greatly reduced by its size.

  • **The "Irish" has comfortable inside seating for all 16-passengers at 4 separate dinettes* There are 8 bunks down below for you to enjoy a nap either on the way to the fishing grounds or after a full day of fresh air and fishing.
