Escape to a Winter Wonderland: 2-Day Snowshoe & Private Yurt Adventure

Get ready for an unforgettable winter getaway that's perfect for both outdoor enthusiasts and beginners alike. Our 2-day, 1-night snowshoe and wilderness yurt stay promises cozy comfort and breathtaking Alaskan beauty.

Day 1: Snowshoe Adventure & Yurt Arrival

Our adventure begins with a snowshoe trek across frozen Trail Lake, nestled in historic Moose Pass. As you make your way along the lake's icy shores, you'll hear fascinating tales of local legends like Alaska Nellie, the ghost of gold miner Al, and the iconic Iditarod Trail.

After a short and scenic hike southward, we'll venture deep into a pristine spruce forest, following a section of the Iditarod National Historic Trail towards remote Grant Lake. While the terrain is moderate, we'll take our time to soak in the tranquility of the winter wonderland surrounding us. As we arrive at our overnight destination, an authentic Alaskan handmade yurt on the banks of expansive Grant Lake, prepare to be awestruck by the indescribable feelings that this pristine wilderness offers. The winter views here are truly breathtaking.

As you settle into your cozy yurt, we'll prepare a hearty dinner, ensuring that your evening is filled with warmth and delicious flavors. And don't forget to keep an eye on the sky - while we can't guarantee it, catching a glimpse of the mesmerizing Aurora Borealis is always a possibility, whether you choose to head out by snowshoe onto frozen Grant Lake or to stay snug in your bunk and catch a glimpse through the skylight of your yurt.

Inclusions: Guided snowshoe tour (around 2.5 miles), wood stove operation lesson, and dinner provided

Day 2: Morning Views & Return to Moose Pass

Wake up to a warm breakfast accompanied by a steaming mug of coffee or tea. It's the perfect way to start your day surrounded by the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness.

With memories made and spirits refreshed, we'll pack up our gear and begin our journey back to Moose Pass, reflecting on the extraordinary experiences and natural wonders we've encountered along the way.

We aim to wrap things up around noon.

Inclusions: Guided snowshoe walk back to Moose Pass, breakfast and snack provided

Guided Days and an Independent Night

One of the unique aspects of this experience is that our guide will be with you during the day to ensure your safety and enhance your experience. But once dinner has been prepared and your wood stove is lit, the guide will overnight off-site before returning for breakfast the next morning, giving you a truly private experience in the Alaskan winter wilderness.

Winter Yurt Glamping: Alaska Style

Alaska, the Last Frontier, is known for its rugged beauty. Our overnight yurt experiences let you dive into this untamed wilderness while enjoying the rustic charm of our backcountry camp.

Our handcrafted yurts keep you warm and dry, and our thick, expedition-style camp mattresses and warm sleeping bags guarantee a comfortable place to rest your head during the winter months.

And when nature calls, our outhouse comes with a bonus - stunning views of the Alaskan wilderness.

Get the best of both worlds: an adventure in the remote, winter wilderness and a warm, comfortable retreat.
