Northwestern Fjord Extended Overnight Kayak Trip
Kenai Fjords National Park’s best-kept secret
About
The tidewater glaciers in Northwestern are far steeper and more dramatic than those in Aialik. While Aialik’s glaciers are expansive and sweep up wide valleys, the Northwestern glaciers rise sharply from the cliffs all the way to the Harding Icefield. Here you’ll see a young moraine formed within the last century, deep rock scars carved by retreating ice, and a lone island tinted pink from oxidized minerals.
You’ll disembark to explore the park for multiple days, moving from place to place since our camping system fits directly into the kayaks—no need for a fixed base camp. Spend your time paddling, taking short hikes, beachcombing, or relaxing by a campfire with your guide and a hot drink.
