About

The Bold Campground really lives up to its name. It’s quite the Bold adventure! Located at the end of Eklutna Lake, it sits underneath the magnificent Bold Mountain. With stunning views of glaciers and the surrounding mountains that tower over you, it's hard not to be impressed with how dramatic the landscape is.

We start out by getting you outfitted for mountain bikes and all safety equipment. We will begin this experience by taking kayaks out onto the milky blue Eklutna Lake. Learn some history about the area and the dam, and what makes the water such a beautiful color, while we begin the 8 mile kayak journey to the end of the lake. We will take breaks along the way to take in the incredible scenery that surrounds you in every direction. The photo opportunities are endless here!

Once at the end of the lake, we will arrive at the camp with everything set up and ready for you to kick back and relax. Our heated tent is equipped with a stove to keep you warm and cozy in the evenings when it gets a little colder out there. There is much more to explore in the area if you’re not too tired yet. Pick one of the many trails and see where it leads, or visit the beautiful Serenity Falls only a few short miles away, with the opportunity to see the Eklutna Glacier in the area. In the evening, we will prepare a scrumptious dinner for you to help refuel for the next day. In the morning, we will wake up and have a light breakfast to fill our bellies before we embark on the bike ride back. The bike trail travels along the lakeside, winding in and out of the forest, with amazing pull outs to see the lake and surrounding peaks along the way. It’s a truly unforgettable experience, and a great way to get in a well-rounded adventure of kayaking, camping, and bicycling all in one trip. ___
