Outlaws & Adventurers: A Gold Rush E-bike Adventure
Ride through Skagway’s wild past — where legends were made and gold was the dream.
About
Step back in time and explore Skagway’s storied past in the most exciting way possible — on an electric bike! This guided adventure begins right in the heart of town at the historic Days of ’98 Show, where the spirit of the Gold Rush still lingers.
The legendary Days of ’98 Show is a lively, laughter-filled performance that’s been entertaining audiences for over a century. This high-energy musical brings to life the boomtown days of 1898, when dreamers, outlaws, and fortune-seekers from all over the world poured into Skagway in search of gold — and sometimes, a little mischief. Once you’ve experienced the excitement of the Gold Rush on stage, it’s time to see where the real stories unfolded!
From the theatre, you will be escorted by foot one block to Klondike Electric Bicycles to get fitted for your e-bike and receive a brief orientation before your journey begins.
Your first stop is the legendary Gold Rush Cemetery, resting place of some of Skagway’s most colorful characters, including the notorious outlaw Soapy Smith. Just beyond the cemetery, a short 7-minute hike will bring you to the 50-foot waterfall, Lower Reid Falls; this is a stunning natural cascade surrounded by lush forest — it is a true hidden gem.
Next, cruise along to the Skagway Waterfront, where your guide will share fascinating stories of the town’s gold rush beginnings, bustling port life, and vibrant modern-day culture — all set against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks and glacial blue waters.
After the guided portion, enjoy an hour of free time to make the adventure your own. You can choose to: 🌲 Hike to Yakutania Point, a local favorite with panoramic views of the Lynn Canal OR 🚴♀️ Continue exploring by e-bike, riding through charming downtown streets or up to the Skagway Overlook to get a bird’s eye view of the town
Whether you’re a history buff, a nature lover, or just looking for an unforgettable Alaskan experience, this e-bike tour is the perfect blend of story, scenery, and adventure.
