Midnight Sun Photo Excursion
Capture Alaska's "Magic Hour" Like a True Professional!
About
About
>Experience the thrill of chasing the Midnight Sun and photograph the dramatic sunset colors in Denali! With a maximum of 4 participants per group, this tour provides a personalized photography experience featuring a prolonged “magic hour.” Revel in the beautiful alpenglow on the mountains, and spectacular cloudscapes. During mid-summer, sunset is close to midnight due to our far north location. The sunset colors last for an extended period of time, giving us ample opportunity to move to several locations during “golden hour” for instruction and experimentation with different compositions, focal lengths, and exposure settings. The extended sunset offers good potential for moose sightings because moose are more active at dusk.
Notes:
-The main focus of this tour is landscape photography with dramatic lighting & colors. If we are lucky enough to find wildlife, we will take the opportunity to photograph them. Instruction topics may also include portraits, pets, sporting events, editing, etc. -Activity level is easy. -This trip is suitable for all skill levels and all cameras, including smartphones.
Rates
>Adults (age 13 and up): $265.00 >Children (age 8-12): $195.00
Duration
>3.5 Hours Tour Start Times & Available Dates Due to the rapidly changing day lengths in our northern latitude, this tour changes start times frequently. This tour is not offered after July 31 because the sun sets farther south behind the mountains and the alpenglow effects are reduced.

nWeather
nActual weather conditions vary greatly from weather forecasts and conditions change rapidly in Denali. Storms move in and out very quickly and the weather is likely to change several times over the duration of one tour. This can be really exciting and can provide some great opportunities for cloudscapes and dynamic lighting on the mountain range. We rarely need to cancel due to weather, but in the case of a weather cancellation, participants who cannot reschedule will receive a full refund. Weather cancellations are at the discretion of Denali Photo Guides. We generally do not make decisions based on weather prior to the day of the tour, and we usually cannot make the call until right before the tour starts. Typically, the guide will meet guests at the start of the tour to discuss the current conditions, skill level & expectations, and determine the best option for each guest individually. Safety and quality of experience are our top priorities.
