About
The M/V Goleta is capable of long range, rough water marine transits.
This service offering is perfect for individuals or small groups looking for a water taxi to get them out to remote cabins or islands. Our vessel can also serve as an expedition base camp for recreational pursuits or to transport building materials and other supplies to surrounding islands and remote southeast Alaska communities.
Please inquire for planning and availability.
What to bring
- Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing as if you were walking around town, and be sure to bring an extra layer or outer shell to stay warm on the open deck. If you tend to get cold, don’t worry—we’ll turn on the heater, and you can remove some layers if needed.
- Motion Sickness: Even the most experienced fishermen can experience seasickness at the start of the season. If you’re concerned about motion sickness, I recommend taking motion sickness medication in advance to help ensure a comfortable and smooth trip.
- Food and Drink: Your tour includes water and light snacks. Feel free to bring along any additional food or drinks you’d like, including beer, wine, etc.
- Viewing: A good pair of binoculars can really enhance your experience on the tour, so I recommend bringing some along. And don’t forget your camera—there’s a lot to see! Personally, I never leave the dock without my sunglasses, either.
