King Salmon Fishing 30 Minutes From Anchorage!
All Ages Welcome to Enjoy a Trip on the Water to Target King Salmon!
About
Our guests can expect a relaxing and enjoyable time on the beautiful Knik River! Surrounded on one side by towering mountains, and beautiful wetlands on another, the scenery alone is breathtaking! The Knik River is great for those who haven't ever fished before and for veterans looking to finally cross king salmon off their bucket list!
Our main technique is trolling while from anchor. We anchor the vessel in a productive hole or stretch of river and let our lines out to a set distance before placing the rod in the rod holder; waiting for the tell tale epic take down of Alaskan King Salmon! When river conditions allow we also back troll, cast lures, jig, float salmon eggs under a bobber, or back-bounce. We will do anything we can to entice a king salmon bite during your trip!
Highlights
The Knik River is special in many ways, namely being the only river in Alaska that has been specifically stocked to provide additional sport fishing opportunity for king and silver salmon! Without the stocking, there would be 0 king salmon returning to the Eklutna Tailrace (via our fishing grounds on the Knik River) for anglers to have an opportunity to catch and keep king salmon. With king salmon struggling across the state, the Knik River provides a convenient and easy opportunity for guests staying in the greater Anchorage are to try their hand at landing one of these magnificent fish!
Aside from its proximity to Anchorage, the Knik River fishery is the only fishery where you can see mountains rising from the ground to heights over 6,000 feet, the Alaska Railroad Train, and the marshlands of the Palmer Hay Flats in one place!
