Embark on a memorable adventure when you climb aboard our motorized, custom-built inflatable vessel for an exciting sightseeing tour en route to our floating base camp. Your knowledgeable captain will scan the sea for wildlife, including whales, and identify points of interest along the way.

At our floating base camp, you'll receive instruction on the safe use of ocean-going, two-person kayaks. These stable yet maneuverable crafts let you enjoy the beauty of the protected bays and inlets near Sitka from a serene, natural perspective.

An experienced guide, well versed in paddling techniques and the marine environment of the area, will lead groups of up to six kayaks. Each of the waterways traveled holds unique attractions, whether colorful intertidal invertebrates, an eagle swooping from the treetops, or the grandeur of the lush rainforest. You may even see a brown bear, harbor seals, or a Sitka black-tailed deer.

What's Included

Round trip transportation to and from Crescent Harbor; snack consisting of clam chowder, crackers, and hot apple cider; souvenir pin; lifejackets and raingear. Souvenir T-shirts are available for purchase at the conclusion of the tour.

Additional Information

• All children must be 40lbs or more.
• Participants should be prepared for inclement weather and dress in warm layers.
• Raingear is provided; however, guests are encouraged to bring their own to ensure maximum comfort while on tour. No prior experience necessary, just good health and an adventurous spirit.
• Children must weigh at least 40 pounds in order to fit into required life jackets. Max weight is approx. 275 lbs. and is based on waist size to fit into the kayak’s 35” x 17” cockpit (hip to hip 17" & front to back 35").
• Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Children ages 13-17 must have a signed parental consent form to participate in the absence of a parent or guardian.
• Multiple daily departures late April through mid-October at times to accommodate cruise ship or tour schedules. This tour operates in most weather conditions.
