About
THE DIPNET EXPRESS - TRIP DETAILS
MUST BE ALASKAN RESIDENT TO PARTICIPATE.
The Dipnet Express was born from the high demand for our dipnet charters and Alaska's never ending summer sun. We wanted to offer a compressed charter (3 hours) for those dipnetters who are short on time, or were not able to board our other charters earlier in the day. Departing at 6pm, this is a great option for walk-ups and Alaskan's who are traveling to McCarthy or to Valdez with only a short window of time to try and net some Copper River Salmon from one of our boats.
This is a fully guided and outfitted trip on the Copper River. We will demonstrate location specific dipnetting techniques and work with you throughout the charter to perfect those skills. We will help you remove fish from your net, bonk, gill and place in totes. This gets your net back in the water faster to maximize your harvest. Charter lasts about 3 hours and includes loading boat, safety briefing, travel time to and from the fishery, transferring gear at beach, Dipnet demonstration, set up and break down of nets and offloading catch after your charter. We will provide flake ice for keeping your catch fresh while onboard. You will need Ice after your charter for the ride home, and this is for sale at camp.
Cancellation
We understand that life happens. If you are in need of canceling a trip, please let us know as soon as possible. Due to the nature of our seasonal business and remote location, if canceling is ultimately what you need to do we offer the following refund schedule based on when you cancel you charter.
Contact us by phone to cancel or to inquire about a cancellation. No-shows will be charged the full price.
CANCELING 15 DAYS OR MORE FROM CHARTER DATE
A full refund will be issued.
CANCELING 14 DAYS OR LESS FROM CHARTER DATE
A 50% refund will be issued.
CANCELING 72 HOURS OR LESS FROM CHARTER DATE
Refunds will not be given for any reason. Here is a short explanation of why we must enforce this policy. After you have made a reservation and sent us your deposit we can no longer market that charter. We turn away numerous fishing parties every year because we are fully booked. When we turn these parties away they go to other charter services or make alternate fishing arrangements and may never try our services. If you cancel your charter, we have lost the opportunity to sell this charter to any of these other parties. We understand your charter is a vacation for you, but please understand that we depend on the revenue earned from our 10 week fishing season for our livelihood.
NO SHOW OR MISSING THE BOAT
Refunds will not be given for any reason!
Not showing up for your charter or being late and missing the boat will result in forfeiture of charter fees and rebooking will NOT be offered. Please check the weather, road conditions, construction delays and cell coverage on your route to Chitna.
You are responsible to check in with staff at camp no later than 5:30am for the 6am charter, 11:30am for the 12pm charter and 5:30pm for the 6pm charter. Your tardiness or absence could delay the boat making dozens of passengers late and impacting subsequent charters throughout the day.
If you think you’ll be late you are required to notify us immediately as to the nature and timing of your delay or pending absence. This notice does not absolve you from polices detailed above but will let us decide whether or not we can accommodate your tardiness or depart on time and not waste time looking for guests who will not be showing up as scheduled. Please respect our time and the time of our other guests!
RESCHEDULING YOUR CHARTER
If you wish to reschedule your charter and do not fall within our cancellation policy dates listed above please contact us to make that change. A $125 rebooking fee will apply.
DEPARTMENT OF FISH & GAME CLOSURES Though extremely unlikely, please note we can not be responsible for Department of Fish & Game Emergency Orders that may negatively impact your trip. We will rebook you into the same fare schedule at no cost within the current season or the following season. We may also offer moving your charter to the Kenai if appropriate at our discretion. NOTE: Additional fees and taxes may apply based on day of week or fishery being booked.
OWNER CANCELED TRIPS
Customers will receive a full refund in case of operator cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances such as mechanical failure, or river conditions that are cause for concern. Should any of these issue arise durning your charter, you will be offered a prorated refund or credit towards a future charter for your unused charter time.
