Meet your friendly guides right at the Sitka Sound Cruise Terminal to get outfitted for your kayak adventure. Get outfitted in high quality gear and learn all the tips and tricks you will need from your experienced guide to navigate your tandem kayak along the scenic Sitka coastline. Enjoy 90 minutes of kayaking and taking in all of the wonders of the Sitka Sound.
What's included
"Your adventure begins the moment you step off your cruise ship and are greeted by your friendly kayaking staff, who will outfit you in everything you need to stay warm and safe on your kayaking adventure. Our staff will launch you from a specially bit ramp that is guaranteed to keep your shoes dry. Your team of guides will choose the perfect adventure for your group based on the wind and tides and lead you along the scenic and historical Sitka coastline. With 90 minutes of kayaking, we enjoy a leisurely pace filled with plenty of photo opportunities. Keep an eye out for a wide variety of seabirds, intertidal life, and marine mammals!
Are There Any Height or Weight Restrictions?
The maximum height to operate in the kayaks is 6-feet 6-inches. The maximum weight is 275 lbs anyone over that weight and possibly some under may not be able to safely fit into the kayaks, participants must also be able to fit into our 3XL PFD’s (life vests). Young participants must weigh at least 40 pounds to properly fit our child-size PFDs.
I’ve never been sea kayaking before, is that a problem?
We offer sea kayaking tours to suit every experience level. Our 2 hour Sitka Sound Kayak Adventure is especially well-suited for those who want to try sea kayaking for the first time. We begin every tour with an equipment orientation and paddle lesson to ensure you’ll be comfortable, safe and have a great time.
We are located at the Sitka Sound Cruise Terminal 4513 Halibut Point Road, Sitka Alaska 99835
If you are traveling by cruise ship, we will meet you at the lower promenade, where most tours meet in Sitka, right where your cruise ship docks.
If you are in town, we encourage you to take the free shuttle from downtown to the cruise terminal to meet us. Please let us know if you are having trouble finding transportation, and we will do everything we can to help."
